A complete signage system for COVID-19, implemented across UAM Cuajimalpa and designed on the COVID-19 Design Toolkit (Version 1.0 US, October 2020) as its base.

The system was designed to engage people and get their attention, make the virus visible, give the right information at the right time, and coordinate it across the university’s installations.

The approach was to use the toolkit’s Risk Framework to identify what information people need along their journey across the university. Two types of signals were designed: fast information and slow information. The system also needed a set of icons designed to the university’s signage guidelines.

Additional icons. New icons were designed to complement the information system with the COVID-19 regulations: distancing, masks, hand washing, symptoms, capacity and wayfinding, among others.
